Jovan Tatić
Jovan Tatić has more than 30 years of experience in translation/interpreting, and morethan 20 years in literary translation. He translated more than 20 novels from portuguese into Serbian, several movies and TV documentaries, and short stories. Some of the authors he translated are José Saramago, Luis Fernando Veríssimo, Dulce Maria Cardoso, Paulo Coelho, António Lobo Antunes, Daniel Galera, Valter Hugo Mãe, and others.
In 2019, his translation of Daniel Galera’s novel Brada natopljena krvlju (Barba Enospada de Sangue), was shortlisted for the annual “Miloš Đurić” prize, awarded for the best literary translation in Serbia. He was one of the founders of the Radoje Tatić Foundation in 2002, and is its president since 2013. The Foundation awards a biannual prize for best translation from Spanish or Portuguese into Serbian. Member of the Steering Board of the Association of Literary Translators of Serbia from 2015 to 2017.
