Festival of European Drama – FED presents seven contemporary, multiple award-winning playwrights from the Czech Republic, Portugal, Belgium, Sweden, Romania, Norway and Cyprus<\/em><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n Festival of European Drama – FED under the slogan “What are you dreaming about – between a dialogue and monologue in contemporary European drama” will be held from November 18th to 21st in the Belgrade Drama Theater, organized by the Belgrade Drama Theater, the Silver Tree and Tre\u0107i Trg associations.<\/p>\n During the festival, seven plays written in less-used European languages \u200b\u200bwill be presented: Czech, Portuguese, Dutch, Greek, Swedish, Romanian and Norwegian.<\/p>\n The festival will open on November 18th with the premiere of the play “AQUABELLES” by the Czech author David Drabek, directed by Dina Radoman, while from November 19th to 21st, there will be six public readings of plays by the most prominent and highly awarded contemporary European playwrights who will be guests of the festival and who will take part in the conversations after the readings.<\/p>\n What do we dream about? Are dreams the fulfillment of wishes or another, parallel reality? Do they haunt, inspire or motivate us? How do they move us? In addition to the main theme – dreams, the dramas problematize a number of very different themes such as: parent-child relationships, parallel realities, visions of a better world, loneliness, the search for love, the fragility of emotional balance in adolescence, reflections on ecology through the voices of nature…<\/p>\n The play “Aquabelles” by the Czech playwright and director of the middle generation David Drabek, directed by Dina Radoman, is a confession about the impossibility of an authentic life in today’s society and follows the lives of three friends in a tragicomic and surreal way.<\/p>\n The scenography is signed by the director and Romana Bo\u0161kovi\u0107, costume design by Ana Tro\u0107i\u0161 Trajkovi\u0107, music by LP duo – Andrija Pavlovi\u0107 and Sonja Lon\u010dar, stage movement by Miona Petrovi\u0107, lighting design by Sonja \u017dugi\u0107, and sound design by Marko Kekezovi\u0107, translation by Tihana Hamovi\u0107. Starring: Arsenije Arsi\u0107, Bratislav Zdravkovi\u0107, Rista Milutinovi\u0107, Una Raki\u0107, Nikola Mijatovi\u0107 and Anja Jovanovi\u0107.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n For the program of public readings, six plays were selected: “Sagrada familia” by Jacinto Lucas Pires from Portugal, translated by Jovan Tati\u0107, directed by Marta \u0110or\u0111evi\u0107; “Here We Go Again” by Annelies Verbeke from Belgium, translated by Bojana Budimir, directed by Nikola Bundalo; “Hunger” by Charalampos Giannou from Cyprus, translated by Sa\u0161a \u0110or\u0111evi\u0107, directed by Nevena Dimitrijevi\u0107; “Fleeing Creatures” by Christina Ouzounidis, from Sweden translated by Svetlana Tot, directed by Nemanja Mijovi\u0107; “The Green Cat” by Elise Wilk from Romania, translated by Simona Popov, directed by Tara Mitrovi\u0107; and as a special event, “Shadows” by Nobel laureate Jon Fosse from Norway, translated by Rado\u0161 Kosovi\u0107, directed by Katarina Vje\u0161tica. After the reading, discussions with the authors will be held, moderated by Vesna Peri\u0107.<\/p>\n All programs will be held on the Small Stage “Predrag Pepi Lakovi\u0107” beginning at 19:00 and 20:30.
